Withdrawal rights and refund policy for digital services under German law
Last updated: October 1, 2025
As a provider of digital services based in Germany, our refund policy complies with German consumer protection law, specifically the regulations regarding digital content and services.
According to § 356 paragraph 5 of the German Civil Code (BGB), consumers do not have a right of withdrawal for contracts concerning the delivery of digital content that is not delivered on a physical medium, if the business has begun with the consumer's prior express consent and the consumer's acknowledgment that they thereby lose their right of withdrawal.
Legal Basis: § 356 paragraph 5 BGB - Exclusion of the right of withdrawal for digital content
When you purchase coins, you receive immediate access to digital services. By completing the purchase, you explicitly agree to the immediate provision of the service and acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal according to § 356 paragraph 5 BGB.
Each search execution represents the delivery of digital content (security intelligence data) that is provided immediately upon request. Once a search is executed and results are delivered, the digital service has been fully provided, and no withdrawal is possible.
By using our service, you explicitly acknowledge and agree that:
As a voluntary goodwill gesture, if you discover that a search result is a false positive (incorrectly flagged security finding), you can report it through our false positive reporting system. After verification by our team, we may refund the coins spent on that particular result to your account balance.
Note: This is a voluntary goodwill policy and does not constitute a legal obligation. Refunds for false positives are provided as coins credited back to your account, not as monetary refunds.
All payment processing is handled by our secure third-party service provider, Stripe. Cerast Intelligence does not store your payment card details. The collection, use, and storage of your payment information are governed by Stripe's privacy policy and security standards.
In cases of technical errors or service failures that prevent the delivery of purchased services, we will work with you to resolve the issue or provide appropriate compensation. Please contact our support team immediately if you experience any problems.
